• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number (optional)
• Profile Information: Avatar/photo, household name, dietary preferences
• Content You Create: Meal preferences, habit tracking data, task lists, grocery lists, photos/moments, captions, tags
• Communication Data: Messages, support requests, feedback

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique identifiers
• Usage Data: Features accessed, interactions, timestamps, session duration
• Camera & Photo Library Access: Only with your explicit permission; we store the photos you choose to upload

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Generate personalized meal plans and grocery suggestions using AI
• Generate photo captions and category suggestions using AI (model: GPT-4 mini or later)
• Enable household sharing and collaboration
• Send transactional notifications (e.g., invitations, updates)
• Comply with legal obligations
• Debug and prevent fraud

3. AI Usage and Data Processing

Meal Planning & Captions

We use OpenAI's GPT-4 mini (or later versions) to:

• Generate meal plans based on your dietary preferences
• Create photo captions and category tags for your moments

Data Sent to AI Services:

• Your meal preferences (diet, cuisines, favorites, avoid list)
• Photo content (as base64 image data for caption generation)
• Household size and dietary notes

Data Retention by AI Provider:

• OpenAI may retain API request data per their privacy policy; see https://openai.com/privacy/

No Training on User Data

Your personal data and content are not used to train our AI models or any third-party models.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

After Account Deletion

• Your account data, including meals, habits, tasks, moments, and photos, will be permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Household data is retained as long as at least one member remains; deleted when all members leave
• Backups may retain data for up to 30 days for recovery purposes

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• End-to-end encryption for sensitive data in transit
• Secure authentication via Supabase
• Regular security audits
• No password storage; session tokens only

Note: No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties except:

• Service Providers: OpenAI (for meal/caption generation), Supabase (backend/auth), Google Cloud (storage/hosting)
• Legal Requirement: If required by law or court order
• Household Members: Information is shared with other members of your household

We do not sell your data.

7. User Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy

Hobbal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
